Who are Poultry Valley & Lifestyle ?   A new Partnership was founded by Sandy
and Shane in 2000 and is based in the Mangawhara Valley near Morrinsville. 

Originally from Hastings, Sandy moved to the Waikato in the mid-to late 1990's to go
50/50 Sharemilking.  After four years of 24/7  work, she decided dairing was not for her ! 
Thus,  the idea of Poultry Valley and Lifestyle began to form.... Starting out firsly rearing
Dairy & Beef calves, before taking on the name of  " Poultry Valley & Lifestyle "  in 2009.

In 2000, Sandy and Shane bought what they call their " Own Little Piece of Paradise "
at Hoe'O'Tainui and moved a house onto their property in 2001:   Sandy writes....

" I used to do 300 calves on my own,  (Shane worked in town then)   picking calves up from  all over the Waikato +  feeding twice a day, going to sales, etc.  Busy hard work !   Too hard doing that many for one person alone really... when you are travelling to pick them up as well,  in-between feeding times ~ twice a day ! "





So we have scaled that back.  The poultry were very few in the beginning,
starting out as a hobby.... which soon grew very very fast, and so our main focus is now the Poultry, having scaled back the calf-rearing side....  the poultry side of the operation becoming a much bigger thing over the last five - six years, I suppose."

Sandy has always been a keen horse rider, having been on two eight-day horse rides in the late 1990s with The Great New Zealand Trail Rides. 













Now, a decade or so on, her much-loved Quarter Horse is 28 years old and pretty much in retirement now....

 Poultry Valley and Lifestyle is centrally situated just 35 mintues from Bombay, 40 mintues from Thames & 20 minutes from Morrinsville, in the picturesque Mangawhara Valley.  Sandy and Shane
